Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice a.s. completes its portfolio of supported cultural events with classical music. In year 1994 the tradition of festivals and competitions of choirs in our country started with the Festival devoted to Bedřich Smetana in his native town Litomyšl where three years in 1994, 1995 and 1997 took place. From 1999 the Festival was delegated to the district of Pardubice. With regard to the 40th anniversary of the composer’s death, death of Bohuslav Martinů, the Festival was renamed to “International festival and competition of choirs dedicated to Bohuslav Martinů 1999”. This Festival has obtained a high international prestige over 11 years of its existence. Participation of more than 100 choirs from the whole Europe and many other choirs from our country is the best proof.
